Jerry Jones says Cowboys should be 'inspired after this win'

Jerry Jones says Cowboys should be 'inspired after this win'

By Brad Biggs | National Football Post

Jerry Jones backed up the chatter.

It was in July that the Dallas Cowboys owner said “ya’ll should come to Cowboys Stadium and watch us beat the Giants’ asses,” during a ceremony at the start of training camp.

The Cowboys defeated those Giants 24-17 on Wednesday night at MetLife Stadium.

“I can’t tell you the respect we have for them,” Jones said after the victory, according to the Dallas Morning News. “To get out of here with this win is very meaningful to us and our season. I’m sure proud of these guys right here. We were the underdogs.”

Underdogs? Sure. The Giants went off as a four-point favorite in the game but it’s not like Jones’ team was an overwhelming underdog. It was an important win for the Cowboys, though. If they had lost, certainly Jones’ comments would have been re-hashed.

“We certainly weren’t proud of the last time we were up here,” Jones said of a game the team blew. “It is really special. Our team should really be able to be inspired after this win.”
